Sexploitation filmmaker Russ Meyer is breast known for his skinematic entrees Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! (1965), Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970), and Supervixens (1975). But the amorous auteur also tried his hand at a variety of less conspicuously titillating flicks. One such experiment was the small town drama Mudhoney (1965). Also known as Mud Honey, the motion picture features Rena Horten, Lorna Maitland, Lee Ballard, and Antoinette Cristiani’s movie debut as well as her nude debut! Two Debuts is the equivalent to a pair of Double Ds — at least, that’s what the stacked ingénue reveals onscreen! As a woman from the Show-Me State, Antoinette shows off her bra-clad rack when a psycho dude (Hal Hopper) rips off her dress. Ms. Cristiani’s comely character soon becomes a damsel in distress (and out of said dress) when the creep knocks her to the floor. While putting himself into her, he puts the misery into Missouri (where the story takes place). At least the skintastic act grants us views of Antoinette’s amazing nude boobs! Alas, the topless honey never became a star since Mudhoney marks her one and only credit. But that doesn’t mean the one-hit wonder didn’t leave behind a luscious legacy. In 1988, the film’s title was used by the Seattle grunge band of the same name. Then, in 2012, Norah Jones appropriated the movie’s poster imagery for the cover of her album Little Broken Hearts. Not to mention Mr. Skin, whose heart-on for Antoinette will live on forever!
