Magellan (2025)

A retelling of the story of the famed Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan (Gael García Bernal) from his conquering of the Malaysian territory of Malacca to his ultimate death in the Philippines. His goal of bringing Christianity to the world and stomping out any signs of Islam seems to drive him into mania, and along the way we get glimpses of his marriage to the beautiful Beatriz (Ângela Azevedo), who, supposedly, a longer cut of this already two-hour-and-forty-minute film was more focused on. But we’d rather shine the spotlight on Yvanne Evangelista, Sasa Cabalquinto, and Ghdd Amaro, who all play naked natives. And we mean naked, all three don’t have a single stitch on as they’re surrounded by a whole tribe of fellow nudies. There’s so much unincumbered skin, this Magellan will have you swellin’!
