Chrys Willet (Dafne Keen) has transferred to Pellington High School after a stint in rehab, and she’s assigned the locker of a former student named Mason Raymore (Stephen Kalyn), who died a crazy and mysterious death when he hit the showers after a basketball game. In that locker, she finds an Aztec artifact known as a Death Whistle and swipes it. This angers Mason’s friend Dean (Jhaleil Swaby), and a confrontation lands him, Chrys, Chrys’s cousin Rel (Sky Yang), Rel’s crush (and Dean’s girlfriend) Grace (Ali Skovbye), and Ellie (Sophie Nerisse) in detention. That’s where the whistle is confiscated by their teacher, Mr. Craven (Nick Frost), who does a test blow on the thing and ultimately dies. The kids end up stealing it back, and Grace blows it, cursing them all to start meeting their maker unless Chrys and Ellie can come up with a plan to stay alive. At least before she’s done in, we get to see Ali in a bright red bikini. And though they don’t strip down, we do get two passionate liplocks between Sophie and Dafne. In an attempt to evoke the famous line about whistle-blowing from Hollywood icon Lauren Bacall, we only wish we got the chance to see them put their other lips together!
