Los Placeres Ocultos or Hidden Pleasures (1976) has a historic place in the foreign film canon. It was the first openly gay film to emerge from Spain following the death of its dictator, Francisco Franco. Highly controversial at the time of its release, the film was met with protests from religious groups who loathed the idea of a gay movie, and organized counterprotests from pro-gay groups who emerged for the first time in Spain to fight against those trying to keep it from being seen. Given all that gayness, it's a bit odd that the movie is in large part about a straight dude. Miguel (Tony Fuentes) is a handsome young straight Spaniard who meets the closeted gay forty-something banker Eduardo (Simon Andreu), and immediately gives him a raging hardo. Eduardo's way of wooing the dudes is to give them a job at his ex-lover Raul's (Antonio Corencia) business and try to use all that favor as the key to getting them to give him sexual favors. But Miguel's super straight. He's got a girlfriend named Carmen (Beatriz Rossat) and a MILF he's boning on the side named Rosa (Charo Lopez). He turns Eduardo down, but the two become buds. Eventually, Eduardo accepts life in the friendzone, but Rosa doesn't, so soon enough she's spreading gay rumors about Miguel to try and ruin his life. Will Miguel and Eduardo's friendship survive the fornication rumors or is their relationship doomed forever? Perhaps put in as a sort of sexuality check, there are actually four nude actresses in the flick: Charo López, Josele Roman, Carmen Platero, and Beatriz Rossat, though Charo uses a body double for her three-B perv-formance. Not Beatriz, though. That’s her T&A in three skin scenes as her and Miguel do it in the woods, on the bed, and outside of a building. Josele Roman plays Pili, who peels off her clothes to flash her rack to an uninterested Eduardo. He doesn't even try to do some touchy feely! But it's Carmen Platero that will really make you splattero when she gives our gang a topless dance with her sexy side ponytail. With all those topless women, Hidden Pleasures is secretly super pleasing to the hetero eye.
