One of the duties of a movie producer is to hire key personnel and sometimes to exercise a certain amount of creative control over what happens on the set. This goes a long way toward explaining why brunette babe Julie Clay, the producer of Surrender (2003), cast herself as the housemate of lesbian dominatrix Salene McCadden, played by the film’s director, Katherine Brooks. It’s not clear whether the director or the producer pushed for all the lengthy lesbian sex scenes, complete with passionate kissing, nipple biting, groping, handcuffs, and candles. Judging by the enjoyment Julie’s getting from them, it’s reasonable to assume she had a “hand” in the matter.
