Born in LA, Louise got her start in the NYC theater scene, but really blew up on daytime television--in always in demand soaps like Days of Our Lives, All My Children, and Passions. This beguiling brunette has been a regular presence on TV since 1963, including a glammy turn as one of William Shatner's space babes on a 1969 episode of Star Trek. Louise then swung into the '70s with a skinematic debut in the counterculture comedy B.S. I Love You (1971). It's a quick flash of mostly sideboob, but it's all we got from Louise. It was mostly TV movies from there, although Louise kept things tawdry with her turn as a gangster's slutty moll in the blaxploitation-lite epic Get Christie Love! (1974). Sorel got us coming again as she sported a nurse's uniform in Airplane II: The Sequel (1982), and she was a major MILF as Wendy Schall's mother in Where the Boys Are '84 (1984). We don't know what to make of her appearing in Woof! Woof! Uncle Matty's Guide to Dog Training (1997), though. But Louise, who was married to both Ken Reeves from The White Shadow and Bea Arthur's ex-husband on The Golden Girls will forever be known for her work in soaps, to some degree as Judith Sanders on One Life to Live, a little bit as Augusta Lockridge on Santa Barbara, but most of all as Vivian Alamain on Days of Our Lives. Louise flourished as the bad girl, with Lockridge even owning an attack Doberman she outfitted with a diamond collar, but her villainy as Vivian Alamain is downright legendary. From framing a doctor by injecting his patients with cleaning fluids to replacing a man's bride at the last moment and tricking him into accidentally marrying her instead, all the way to killing a female rival by poisoning her comb, Louise has been amazing in the often over the top role, although she never goes topless. She was even set to return to the role in 2020, before Covid-19 hit. Still, while some guys just like the mean girl, because of Louise Sorel, all the men love Vivian Alamain.
