There are many truths in life that Mr. Skin adheres to: what goes up, must come down; the sun is bright; Skin Central is always the place to be; and if you’re only going to appear in one film, you should make it a good one. Marcela Pierce played out that last truth perfectly, opting for a character named “Orgy Lover on Bed” as the one and only role on her acting resume. This fabulously titled character appears in the movie Viva (2007), a comedy, a drama, and a musical all rolled into one. Written and directed by Anna Biller, a film festival favorite known for creating unique, female-centric movies with a lot to look at, Viva nabbed nominations for a Transilvania Trophy at the Transilvania International Film Festival and a Golden St. George at the Moscow International Film Festival, and won the Best of Fest Bunny Award at the Boston Underground Film Festival. Biller also appeared in the flick, and you can see her nipples through a mesh bikini top while she sings about throbbing—and Marcela actually makes a guy throb while she wears her own sparkly see-through bikini top, her pink-tipped breasts spilling out the top as she engages in some vigorous rolling around on the bed mentioned in her character’s name. While the movie was released in 2007, it’s set in the early ‘70s, and is a wink and nod to the sexploitation films of the era. Here is another truth Mr. Skin will share: Any movie with the tagline “They were housewives seeking kicks, in a world of swingers, orgies, booze and sin that was the sexual revolution!” deserves to be watched more than once.
