With a slender frame, luscious lips and an amazing pair of deep dark eyes, it’s no surprise Tamayo Otsuki chose a career in front of the camera. However, it may come as a shock to some that the exotic hottie also performed stand-up comedy. Apparently Tamayo wears different hats — even though she may not always wear a lot of clothes! Indeed, the skintastic starlet stripped for Japanese Playboy in a satyrical spread celebrating pubic hair. Otherwise she could be seen acting on the big and small screens. The appealing ingénue made her movie debut in the comedy Mortuary Academy (1988), in which she was billed Madonna-style as simply “Tamayo.” Unfortunately, Tamayo didn’t flash as much flesh as the one-named singer did in her coffee table book Sex (1992). At that time, Ms. Otsuki was steaming up the boob tube as schoolteacher Elaine Yamagami in the sitcom Davis Rules (1991-1992) alongside co-stars Bonnie Hunt and Patricia Clarkson. But the funny fox returned to film for the Wayans Brothers’ street spoof Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood (1996).
