Tommaso (2020)

This story basically comes direct from the life of its real life director, Abel Ferrara.  If that name rings a bell, you're probably a fan of the gritty New York City based crime dramas he directed over the years like King of New York (1990), Bad Lieutenant (1992), and New Rose Hotel (1998).  Abel turns his powerful lens back onto his own life a little bit in this one and casts his long time collaborator and star of plenty of his movies Willem Dafoe.  Willem plays an American film director living in Rome with his much younger wife and 3 year old daughter... Oddly enough, both are played by Ferrara's REAL LIFE wife and daughter to boot.  So there is no way this story of redemption and self-reflection as the aging American director struggles with past sobriety issues coming back up, anger and jealousy about his young wife and her friends, and bouts of downright violent outbursts that are peppered throughout the story.  We guess if you're going to cast anyone to play you in a semi-autobiographical story of your own life, directed by you, you might as well get one of the best and you could do a HELL of a lot worse than the legendary Willem Dafoe. Also, there is some nudity too as Cristina Chiriac shows off her butt a bit on top of Willem and Dharma Mangia goes full frontal in an acting class for an extended three minute long dance scene as well!  Also, don't miss the lovely Alessandra Scarci showing off her pokies in a braless top in another acting class scene.  It's the show stopping full frontal cafe scene though from Sofia Rania that'll make you crave a double shot of whatever she's having!  Enjoy the sexiness that Abel Ferrara has been bringing us since the late 80s and also enjoy a peak behind the curtain of the life of the man himself, through the genius of Willem Dafoe!
