A lot of actors and actresses guest-star or play bit parts on the long-running German detective series Tatort, but tight and taut Ulrike Folkerts actually hangs around as one of the series regular stars, Lena Odenthal, a part she’s played for 75 episodes from 1989-2021. In fact, she plays it so well, she’s won three different awards for her efforts, including a Reader’s Choice, and Best Female Crime Inspector. She also flashes all her good parts on the program (shout out to German TV censors who see no problem with primetime nudity), which are all very good indeed. While Tatort does take up a lot of her time, it’s not the only bit of show business Ulrike has been seen in. The Hanover School of Music and Theater graduate was Charlotte in the movie Over My Dead Body (1995), Doro in the TV movie Five Children Need a Mother (1997), Ruth Berg in the TV movie Der Hochstapler (1999), had a regular gig in the series Drehkreuz Airport in 2001, played Monda Dengler in the TV movie The Bodyguard (2005), Olga Schmitt in the mini-series Die Rebellin(2009), Patrizia Fischer in the flick Gaming Instinct (2013), Marie in the short film Rose (2016), the recurring character Ulrike Sander in the series How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast) in 2019, and Olivia in the mini-series Ausgebremst (2020). And, hey, she also won a bronze medal in swimming at the 2004 Eurogames, an LGBTQ sporting event; yup, this hottie is out and about—and apparently really good at the butterfly stroke.
