Alena’s career took off in 1967 when she landed a bit part in the Dean Martin flick The Ambushers. Although she played the uncredited “Slay Girl,” the part garnered enough attention for the comely young starlet to win her a role in the Barbara Streisand flick Funny Girl the following year. Both parts paled in comparison to what would prove to be her final role as “Antiope” in the ultra-Skinful, The Amazons in 1974, though. Alena, like the rest of her warrior-woman comrades in the flick flashed her full-on flapper-flesh in the picture, most notably during the mud-wrestling scene. (If ever there were a scene to go down in Skinematic History…) The film is full of naked man-hating warrior-babes, including the likes of Sabine Sun, Malisa Soto and Luciana Paluzzi, so if you’re inclined to spend your hard-earned money of Euro-sex flicks from the 1970s, then it’s a bona fide winner!
