Born in a refugee camp in Thailand, the black-haired actress and writer is the daughter of Vietnamese immigrants. Her childhood home was destroyed due to Hurricane Katrina and her family was forced to evacuate to Dallas, where they've literally set up shop running a convenience store. She went on to attend Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts, where she studied creative writing and later changed her major to film studies. She started exploring acting to overcome her shy nature, eventually landing a job at PBS, where she thought she would work on documentaries. Instead, she headed to New York City and became a star of the screen. Chau has appeared in works such as The Sarah Silverman Program (2008), How I Met Your Mother (2010), Trenches (2010), NCIS (2010), My Boys (2010), Good Luck Charlie (2012), and $#*! My Dad Says (2010). But her hottest appearance is in the P.T. Anderson drama Inherent Vice (2014). She plays a sexy masseuse who makes up for her lack of nudity in the film by kissing a girl.
