Some years are better than others for West Coast beauties, and 1978 brought the season when beauty Kim Lankford's earthy, tangy vintage bloomed into its full-bodied palate. Not only did Kim's all-day-sucker eyes, apple cheeks, and silly-sally smile bring a face of effervescent fun to the NBC comedy The Waverly Wondersas the character Connie Rafkin, but the lean, lovely lady also waved her wonder twins and dashed buns out into the nighttime surf as Dina in the film Malibu Beach. Why can't they all be California girls? A native of The Golden State, the Montebello-born beauty is mostly known for her role as Ginger Ward on the nighttime soapsy drama Knots Landing, where she played the part from 1979-1983, then reprised it for the 1997 mini-series Knots Landing: Back to the Cul-de-Sac. Come-hither Kim also showed up in episodes of Fantasy Islandin 1982 and 1984; and The Love Boat in 1978, 1983, and 1984; as well as the HBO series The Hitchhiker, where her character Rae Bridgeman stripped down to show off that fabulous pair of breasts once again (still awesome). Big-screen adventures included parts in The Octagon (1980) with Chuck Norris, Missing Pieces(1991) with Monty Python’s Eric Idle and Lauren Hutton, Night of the Running Man (1995) with Scott Glenn and Andrew McCarthy, and Mixed Blessings (1998) with The Last Picture Show’s Timothy Bottoms. Kim’s last acting role was in 2015, a whole 10 years after the previous one—she played Tamsen Donner in the TV movie documentary Dead of Winter: The Donner Party.
